Cockpit Canopy for the US Navy A4 Skyhawk Attack Aircraft Fighter . John McCain was flying his 23rd bombing mission over North Vietnam when his A-4E Skyhawk was shot down by a missile over Hanoi. The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a single seat subsonic carrier-capable attack aircraft developed for the United States Navy and United States Marine Corps from the 1960?s onward for nearly 50 years and still in use for training today. Cockpit Canopy Dimensions: 36" X 24" X 18". The canopy for sale is the pop up portion in the central section of the cockpit frame where the pilot would enter the aircraft. During an emergency ejection a canopy may get shattered, so a replacement like this may come in handy. Unused condition, it's like new.  It is a heavy thermoformed Lexan type material, with fiberglas reinforced edges for frame attachment. Shows some scratches, but is in otherwise in sound condition. Local pick up near John Wayne Airport (SNA) or arrange for transportation.This is a large item and can be shipped.
